This is not a beach for tourists, it’s the place where Garret McNamara made his world record by surfing the highest swell ever done before. Surfers have been taking to Nazaré XXL waves as part of the World Surf League’s, Big Wave Awards.

After feeling inspired it’s time for you to go for a surf lesson, adapted to your level, in world class waves such as “supertubos” in the Portuguese surf mecca – at Peniche or Guincho- depending on the ocean conditions. With a southwest swell and an offshore this sandy beaches are some of the best surf spots in Portugal.
